Cancer Research UK has two shops in Buxton, both on Spring Gardens.

These days it seems that everyone knows at least one person who has suffered from, or is suffering from, cancer. It's a fact that one in three of us will develop cancer at some time during our lives. Everyone wants a cure to be found.

Cancer Research UK was formed in 2002 by the merger of two groups: The Cancer Research Campaign and Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

They fund research into all aspects of cancer, its causes and treatments and are the European leaders in the development of cancer treatment.

The charity receives very little government funding and relies on donations from members of the public.
