Derbyshire Constabulary celebrates its 150th anniversary this month and Buxton Museum & Art Gallery celebrates right along with it.

A new exhibition, Time Served, opened on the 9th March and runs to 22nd April when it starts its tour of other museums and community centres around the county.

Time Served is a display of some of the fantastic images and objects from the Police Collections, tracing the history of policing in Derbyshire. It includes items from the Borough forces as well as Derbyshire Constabulary.

The Derbyshire Police Collections were passed into the care of Derbyshire County Council in 2004 as a gift from Derbyshire Constabulary. The collections include police uniform and equipment, crime related materials, books and documents, and a photographic collection.

Staff at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery have been developing exciting partnerships to bring the collection to diverse audiences in Derbyshire through a series of themed touring exhibitions visiting libraries and community centres around the county. The exhibitions aim to highlight important community messages as well as enlighten, entertain and interest the public.
