Description
The Big Cats are back! Over the past year, according to Derbyshire Police, there have been four sightings of mysterious big cats in the Peak District. In the past month alone, there have been two more sightings, of a large, puma-like animal - one at Darley Dale and one at Idridgehay. The Darley Dale encounter was made in the first-light of five a.m. by cyclist, Adam Gladwin, on his way to work; Mr. Gladwin said that the thing crossed the road in front of his machine at a distance of no more than forty yards and that it was "as plain as day, right in front of me….as big as a German Shepherd dog, with a long black tail." He was unsure whether to stop or continue his journey, but on calling in at the local paper shop, he was told that this was not the first sighting of a large cat in the area. It is thought that illegally imported cubs of pumas and black leopards are being dumped in the Peak District when they become to big to manage by their irresponsible owners. There have been no records of anyone having been attacked by such creatures. | |||
